We have recently built an extension in a large family house in Clapham.

We enocountered two problems when we started the build. Firstly a hired company who cut a tree down for the family covered over some root remains they failed to remove with soil. Unfortunately this lay in the foundation trench which we had to dig out by hand then dig a bigger trench in its place. This created the problem that the calculation for the foundation no longer worked so our engineer recommended a more highly reinforced concrete foundation.

Secondly we found that a steel beam calculation was done incorrectly by the family’s architect. The beam was not wide enough thus our engineer modified the plans to add a wider platewide to support the wall so that three stories of building could rest on it.

In the end we delivered a beautiful addition to the home and overcame problems that did not affect your delivery timeframe.

Refurbishing an out-of-date kitchen in East Dulwich

The first task was to strip the kitchen out removing all the old cabinets. We then re-wired the entire kitchen in accordance with NICEIC regulations and issued a new electrical certificate. The client had some ideas on the way they wanted the new kitchen to be laid out and through discussion we arrived at a practical solution that maximised the space and offered the best solution for a clean, modern layout.

We advised on the placement of the sink unit and utlities consulting on the most cost effective way of achieving ahigh quality finish while still being in line with the overall budget for the project. New cabinets were fitted throughout along with a new floor, tiling and splash backs. The project was finished on time and to budget. From an out dated, tired kitchen to a modern, stylish multi-functional room in 6 weeks!

New bathroom installation in Streatham

We have been asked to refurbish a bathroom in Valley Road, Streatham. The project is to replace a ceiling to install new spot lights replace tiling and install completely new bathroom furniture.

Whilst doing the work we found good ship lap cladding under the old existing cladding in quite good condition. To save the house from horrible black dust we avoided taking the cladding down by attaching new wooden joists to that ceiling to level it providing a good flat surface for new LED down lights.
